Meet Mental Performance Consultant Kiley Smith.

Hi, I’m Kiley!

I’m so glad you found me! I’m a Mental Performance Consultant with Cognelite, a lifelong athlete, group fitness coach, runner, and all-around lover of movement and sport.

My passion for athletics and performance is what led me to this work. I’ve experienced firsthand how the mind can either fuel your best moments or hold you back—both in sport and in life. Helping athletes build confidence, navigate pressure, and find joy in their performance is why I love what I do.

If you found me, it’s probably because you…

While my education and training in sport psychology give me the tools to support you, it’s my own journey as an athlete—from growing up playing multiple sports to competing in college and staying active today—that truly fuels my passion for this work. I know what it feels like to face challenges in sport, and I’m committed to helping you become the best version of yourself—both in your performance and in life beyond your sport.

And I can’t wait to work with you to help make that happen.

    Psychology today profile

  • Growing up in an active family, I spent my childhood playing just about every sport I could. In high school, I focused on volleyball, cross country, and tennis—sports that not only challenged me but also brought me the most joy. Like many athletes, after years of intense training and competition, I eventually hit a point of burnout.

While attending Colorado State University, I rediscovered my love for tennis through the school’s competitive club team—and along the way, I discovered the world of mental performance training. Learning how to shift my mindset—to play with gratitude and renewed energy—was a game changer for me both on and off the court.

That experience ultimately led me to pursue a Master of Science in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Today, I’m passionate about helping other athletes navigate their own mental performance challenges. Whether it’s through running marathons, coaching group fitness classes, or joining a local pickleball league, I’m still that competitive, movement-loving athlete at heart—always setting new goals and making sport something fun and exciting again.

  • Being able to combine my education, training, and personal experience as an athlete to support others is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Since completing my Master’s in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology, I’ve had the opportunity to work with athletes across a variety of sports and competitive levels. I’ve provided individual and team-based consulting with collegiate programs like baseball, soccer, basketball, and golf, helped develop leadership skills in both corporate and high school settings, and used mental performance strategies in my work as a tennis coach and group fitness instructor.

My own journey as an athlete—playing multiple sports growing up, competing in volleyball, cross country, and tennis in high school, rediscovering my love for sport through competitive club tennis in college, and now staying active through marathons and pickleball—has shaped my understanding of the mental ups and downs athletes face. That perspective continues to fuel my passion for helping others build confidence, navigate pressure, and find joy in their sport again.
